I am a young professional from Bogotá who is passionate about sustainability, communication, and social impact. My academic and professional journey has been marked by discipline, commitment, and the conviction that education is one of the most powerful tools for transforming lives and bringing about change in society.
However, continuing my professional education posed a major financial challenge. While I was working and gaining experience in the field of corporate social responsibility, I was also still paying off my undergraduate degree, which made pursuing a graduate degree at a top-tier university seem like a very distant goal.
Despite the difficulties, I never stopped preparing myself. I participated in academic activities, volunteer work, and various training opportunities that strengthened my personal and professional skills, always with the goal of growing and making a positive impact through my work and my life’s mission.
Today, thanks to the support of the Fundación Juan Pablo Gutiérrez Cáceres, I have the opportunity to continue my education in sustainability and move closer to the professional and social purpose I have been building for years.

What has your journey been like leading up to graduate school?
My journey to graduate school has been marked by constant effort, discipline, and the pursuit of opportunities for personal and professional growth. Ever since my undergraduate years, I’ve known that I wanted to build a purpose-driven career focused on creating social impact and contributing—through sustainability and communication—to the development of more just and responsible societies.
Throughout my training as a political scientist, I focused not only on my academic studies but also on strengthening my skills through volunteer work, extracurricular activities, leadership projects, and professional experiences that allowed me to broaden my perspective and prepare myself holistically. People often asked me why I participated in so many activities at the same time, but for me, each experience represented an opportunity to learn, grow, and get closer to my goals.
Over time, I began to gain professional experience in the area of corporate social responsibility at RCN Radio, where I reaffirmed my interest in sustainability and came to understand the impact organizations can have when they operate in a more responsible, transparent, and community-focused manner.
However, achieving my dream of pursuing a graduate degree presented a significant challenge. While I was still paying off my undergraduate degree, I found it difficult to enroll in a master’s program at a top-tier university due to financial constraints. Even so, I never stopped preparing myself or believing that my effort and dedication could open doors for me.
During that search, I learned about the Fundación Juan Pablo Gutiérrez Cáceres, an opportunity that transformed my path and allowed me to pursue a master’s degree in Sustainability Management at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana—an achievement that I had long thought would take me many years to attain.

How did the support you received change your life?
The scholarship profoundly transformed my life, both personally and professionally. Beyond the financial support, it offered me a real opportunity to pursue a master’s degree that I had long considered a distant goal. It allowed me to continue my academic studies at a top-tier university, deepen my knowledge of sustainability, and continue building the career path I had always dreamed of.
It also gave me the opportunity to believe even more in myself and in the value of hard work, discipline, and constant preparation. Receiving this support confirmed that all the years I had dedicated to my studies, work, extracurricular activities, and personal growth had been worth it.
Thanks to the scholarship, I can now plan my professional future with greater confidence and clarity, preparing myself to make an impact through sustainability, communication, and social innovation. It has also allowed me to grow in my professional environment and broaden my perspective on how organizations can contribute to building more just, responsible, and equitable societies.
The scholarship not only helped me continue my studies, but it also helped me believe in myself much more, opened doors in the professional world, and further strengthened my professional profile.

What is the Foundation’s impact?
The Fundación Juan Pablo Gutiérrez Cáceres has a profoundly transformative impact by believing in people’s talent, effort, and potential as tools for building a more equitable society. Beyond financial support, the Foundation provides real opportunities for young professionals like us to access high-quality education, continue building our life plans, and make a positive impact through our fields of work and expertise.
In my case, the Foundation represented the chance to achieve a goal that I had long considered out of reach. Thanks to this support, I am now able to strengthen my training in sustainability, continue growing professionally, and prepare myself to contribute to building organizations that are more transparent, accountable, and committed to society.
I believe the Foundation’s impact goes far beyond a scholarship. Its work drives long-term social transformation because it invests in people who not only want to grow professionally but also to bring about positive change in their communities and organizations.
The Foundation demonstrates that when we invest in education, we create opportunities capable of transforming lives. Thanks to that vote of confidence, many of us are now able to turn goals that once seemed out of reach into real projects with purpose and a promising future.
